The History of Crane
1855 – 1985
Crane was co founded in Chicago, USA in 1855.
National Sales Machine Company, Dixie Narco, Glasco, Polyvend and Crane National Vendors were also acquired.
NRI also joins Crane.
2000s
Crane Merchandising Systems started integrating.
Acquisition of Telequip, CashCode, Money Controls, MEI, and Conlux.
2014 – 2017
Retired National, Dixie-Narco, GPL, and Automatic Products). Microtronic also joins – mobile and close-site payment solutions.
2019
Acquisition of Cummins Allison – leader in currency, coin, and check handling solutions and service capabilities.
2020
Integration of Crane Merchandising Systems and CPI – vending and retail solutions.
2023
Crane NXT formed as a spin-off from Crane Holdings Company, comprising CPI and Crane Currency. CPI becomes part of Crane NXT.
2026
Crane Convenience is launched as a sub-brand under CPI (Crane Payment Innovations).
